China: The Japanese armoured cruiser Izumo anchored in Shanghai, on the eve of the Battle of Shanghai (1937).

The Izumo was an armored cruiser of the Imperial Japanese Navy. The Izumo was named after Izumo Province, an ancient province of Japan (corresponding to present-day Shimane Prefecture). The Izumo was used by Imperial Japan to intimidate and attack China and Shanghai.
