Thailand: Mangroves, waterways and streams near Krabi Town and Ko Klang, Krabi Province

The mangrove forests of Krabi remain remarkably intact and are home to many types of fish, crabs, shrimps and molluscs. They are also important nesting grounds for hundreds of different bird species, as well as providing shelter for dugongs, monkeys, lizards and sea turtles.

Mangroves are various kinds of trees up to medium height and shrubs that grow in saline coastal sediment habitats in the tropics and subtropics – mainly between latitudes 25° N and 25° S.
