Korea: A senior Korean official, possibly the prime minister, being carried in an elaborate sedan chair, c. 1890

The painting shows four porters and two attendants carrying a first class nobleman or government official in an open sedan chair; the porters use straps from the chair's frame to distribute the weight over their shoulders, the attendants are holding the sides of the seat.
