Japan: Hojo Yasutoki (1183-1242) was an advisor to the Kamakura Bakufu (government). Here he receives a commendation from Shogun Minamoto no Sanetomo. Yashima Gakutei (1786-1868), c. 1825

Yashima Gakutei was a Japanese artist and poet who was a pupil of both Totoya Hokkei and Hokusai. Gakutei is best known for his kyoka poetry and surimono woodblock works.
