Netherlands: 'Cupido', Isaac Lodewijk la Fargue van Nieuwland (1726-1805), c. 1765

'Cupido' was born in Suriname or Curacao and was given to Stadholder Willem V (1748-1806) by the Dutch West India Company ( Geoctroyeerde Westindische Compagnie) or GWIC.

Cupido is represented here in his serving livery as a valet to the Stadholder.
