China: Yang Chengwu (1914-2004), Commander of the Eighth Route Army Division 115 during the Sino-Japanese War, c. 1937

Yang Chengwu ( October 27, 1914 - February 14, 2004) was a general of the People's Republic of China. He was also a Proletarian Revolutionary and a military strategist of the People's Liberation Army. He was the Deputy Chief of General Staff of the People's Liberation Army from 1954-1965 and 1974-1980.

Yang was born in Changting County, Fujian Province of China on October 8, 1914. He died on February 14, 2004 in Beijing, at the age of 90.
