Mencius was a philosopher in the 4th century BCE. He was the most famous Confucian after Confucius. There are a lot of stories about Mencius's mother that represent the importance of respecting one's parents in Confucianism. One of the main stories is called The Three Moves.<br/><br/>

The story is about his mother moving three times to find the right place for her children's upbringing. They finally settled at a house near a school so Mencius could get a good education. Mencius didn't want to move around so much, but he obeyed his mother's choices until she found the right house showing the importance of filial piety.
